Key Staff

Jane Barnes, Interim Executive Director

Jane Barnes is the Director of Consumer and Government Affairs for Centura Health, the largest non-profit health care system in Colorado. Ms. Barnes’ responsibilities include coordination of federal and state initiatives affecting health care systems and representation of Centura Health in a wide variety of community initiatives. She is currently serving as the interim executive director for Pueblo StepUp for which Centura Health is the administrative sponsor. Barnes has nearly 20 years of experience managing and raising funds for non-profit organizations including the successful Health Passport program at St. Anthony Hospital. She is known for her innovative program development and for developing sustainable funding sources. Ms. Barnes has a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology from Goucher College, a Master of the Arts in Anatomy and Physiology from Ball State University, and is a Certified Program Planner. Pamela Doyle, Healthy Communities Program Manager

Pamela has been employed with Pueblo StepUp since 2005. She has worked for Children’s Medicaid since 1998; first as an Outreach Coordinator and then as Program Supervisor beginning in 2010. Brenda LaCombe, Program Manager for Medicaid & CHP+ Outreach, Enrollment & Retention

Brenda has worked with Pueblo StepUp since 2003, before which she worked for six years with troubled teens in a residential living setting at Boys Town in Omaha. Brenda attended Regis University and is among several bilingual staff members at Pueblo StepUp. brendalacombe@centura.org (719-557-3878)

Simon Tearpak, Program Specialist

Simon Tearpak is Pueblo StepUp’s grant writer and manages the agency’s fundraising, special events, and operational support. He has been employed with Pueblo StepUp since July 2012. Mr. Tearpak has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Colorado State University-Pueblo (CSU-Pueblo). His internship experience includes Event Supervisor for CSU-Pueblo’s Student Diversity Resource Center and Assistant to the Director of Communications for John Salazar’s 2010 congressional campaign. simontearpak@centura.org (719-557-3881).
